HAMMOCK DRIVE

BUILT

Located in South Miami, the primary residence of Hammock Drive is a stunning example of modern tropical architecture. Our team was tasked with creating an extension to the home in the form of a pool house and loggia. The vision for this project was to seamlessly blend comfort, elegance, and simplicity, while paying homage to the existing architecture and site.

To achieve this, we carefully selected materials and finishes that were inherent to the existing architecture and surroundings. Native Floridian oolite stone was chosen for its natural beauty and texture, while Cypress wood ceilings provided warmth and contrast to the concrete used in the structure. The loggia not only connected the pavilion to the main residence, but also framed the lush backyard and pool, creating a visually stunning space that brought the outside in.

The pavilion, designed as a folly or lantern, became the centerpiece of the project, providing a breathtaking focal point from the main residence. The interior design aimed to create an immersive experience that blurred the lines between indoor and outdoor living. Large glass openings and the continued use of oolite stone ensured that the architecture remained in harmony with the surrounding landscape.

Our philosophy is to create spaces that are not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing, providing an experience that is as enjoyable from a distance as it is from within. The pool house and loggia project is a perfect example of this approach, seamlessly blending form and function to create a stunning extension to an already beautiful home.
